Pastor Corner,

Grace and peace in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, We are “NEVER ALONE”.  That was the theme of Annual conference and that is the JOY I have in my heart today.  Knowing that wherever I go God goes with me.  As a matter of FACT He has already been there waiting for me to arrive.  His presence is with us constantly, not just now and then.  He never leaves us or forsakes us.  When friends, family and coworkers walk away, God remains.  Why because more than all these others God Himself treasures you.  He loves with a perfect love with out condition.  He loves you because he created you to be you.  You are who He loves and that will not change.

Think of it the very God that created all things wants to be with you, not just now and then but, all the time, in good times and bad, in darkness and light, in sickness and health.  Oh we may not feel like it, but, He is there and we can’t change that no matter what we feel.  He has been through the roughest things and I in the midst of the most wonderful things.  He knows our joys and pains because He has experienced them.

We need to focus on the things that God wants us to see not the things that would distract us from Joy in the Lord.  These can be found in 4 areas; Scripture, Tradition, Experience and Reason.

Scripture:  It is the example and witness of God to us of his desire to be united in perfect love with us.  From the beginning He wanted and wants to be with us and us with Him.   He guides and directs us to a more abundant life here.  We should not just pass the days by but live face to face with God every minute.

Tradition:  In our lives we have these traditions that we follow.  The tradition of God’s people (the Church) is to draw closer to God and His perfect will.  By doing this we have a closer relationship where we can hear and know the will of the one who created us.

Experience:  In like fashion people who believe in God and in His son Jesus Christ experience.   They experience what it is like to be forgiven and to forgive, to receive and to give, to be loved and to love, to be befriended and to be a friend.  I could go on and on but I want you to know that we experience pain as well.  When we do God is there and we experience His comfort and peace.

Reason;  It just makes sense.  Have you ever thought that this is just all a mistake or are you like me and see a sunset or a leaf or an ant and say “we are not alone”.  Reason in our lives tells us that some force, some entity, something larger than ourselves is at work.  Ask the question “where did that begin?” and you eventually get to the place where something had to create and that something is God.  He created it all and especially you.

He did not just to wind us up and let us spin down like a watch.  If he did He wouldn’t be so present in this time.   So the next time you say you are on your own think on these things and know you are “NEVER ALONE”.

Walking together with Christ
